Shipping T&Cs
Shipping
At AW 1770 Botanic Nursery, we ship to the following non-restricted states: New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, and the Australian Capital Territory.
For customers in Tasmania, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory, shipping is available via a third-party concierge service to meet biosecurity requirements. Two trusted services are Rare Plants Concierge Service and Uprooted Plant Concierge. Please note that all fees associated with the concierge service will be borne by the purchaser.
We advise that you read the terms and conditions of the concierge service prior to making any purchases to ensure you are happy with their terms.
Please also research your plants on the following government sites regarding the latest news on import restrictions –
Shipping Methods
We use Australia Post for both Standard and Express Post shipping. Shipping rates are calculated based on the weight and size of your parcel.
- Standard shipping starts at $14.95.
- Express Post starts at $18.95.
If you are using a concierge service for shipping to Tasmania, Western Australia, or the Northern Territory, you will still need to pay AW 1770 Botanic Nursery for shipping to the concierge service. Any additional fees for the concierge service must be negotiated directly with them.
The total shipping cost will be calculated at checkout based on the number of plants in your order.
For those located nearby, you can catch us at various markets in 1770, Agnes Water, Bundaberg, and Gladstone, or by appointment only.
Packaging
We expertly package our plants to ensure they arrive healthy and in excellent condition.
- Hibiscus are shipped in their pots to maintain root health.
- Bromeliads are sent as unpotted pups or plants, as they can thrive without soil for longer periods during transit.
- Frangipani are sent as calloused cuttings, ready for planting.
All plants are treated for pests prior to sending, ensuring they are in the best condition when they reach you.
Processing Time
We typically send plants on Mondays, with a purchase cut-off the Friday prior to ensure timely shipping. If there are extended public holidays or periods of extreme heat, we may adjust processing times to ensure your plants arrive healthy and in the best condition possible. We’ll notify you of any changes to shipping schedules during these times.
Delivery Conditions
To ensure the best start for your new plants, please follow these care guidelines:
- Upon arrival, unpack and water the plants, then place them in a bright, indirect light area for one week before repotting or planting out.
- For grafted plants, keep an eye out for water shoots growing from the graft host. These should be pinched or cut off as close to the stem as possible to prevent them from affecting the grafted plant.
Damaged / Delayed Shipments
If you receive a damaged package, please report the issue immediately. Take photos of the packaging to support any potential claim with Australia Post. After photographing, carefully open and unwrap the plants. If you notice any damage to the plants themselves, take additional photos and send them to us at sales@aw1770botanicnursery.com.au.
For purchases exceeding $100, you have the option to add additional insurance at checkout for extra protection.
Shipping Tracking
A tracking number will be provided to you once we have shipped your plant with Australia Post. You can use this to track the progress of your delivery and stay updated on its arrival.
Returns and Refunds
We do not offer returns or refunds for change of mind, as we are shipping live plants. For added peace of mind, we suggest selecting additional insurance at checkout for purchases over $100 to cover any potential issues with Australia Post during transit.
However, we will work with you to ensure any issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
We will notify you by email once we have shipped your plants.
Please ensure that someone will be home to receive the plants when they arrive and can unbox and water them as soon as possible.
Please ensure your shipping address is correct.
If there are any issues with your plant on arrival please photograph the issue and contact us the same day the plant is delivered, email sales@aw1770botanicnursery.com.au
